Description
Asymmetrical ceramic Sake pot with beautiful glaze, colour and pattern. The organic shaped handle seems to float on the back side, a perfect cradle for one’s hand to grasp. It is a great example of Japanese aesthetics, exercising ideas of wabi sabi with its imperfections. There is such a natural balance in this sculptural work of art, unlike anything I have seen before, it exists without an artists name which I think only intensifies the raw nature of this craft. Surely one of the most simple yet dramatic study of the gestural act of pouring sake or tea - an undeniable connection to process.
