Description
A beautiful silver plated copper plate from Japan. A piece which has unique character and hand hammered craftsmanship in the middle of the plate while the surrounding 5 leafed rim symbolizes the cherry blossom, a very powerful and important tree in Japanese culture.

It has a special feeling - somewhat minimalist - somewhat spiritual. The design of the plate feels very whimsical and extremely of the Japanese sensibility. The piece is in wonderful condition and the quality of both the silver plated and copper has remained beautifully preserved, reflecting the light that hits it.

The history of the plate comes from Japan, where I had found it in an antique shop close to a neighbouring shrine.. Some 45 minutes or so by subway from Tokyo. Like all my items - they speak to tradition, quality, craftsmanship, history and sense of place. Items that are one of a kind. Holding some sensibility of mystery while also existing as a functional object.

Items to enrich your life - to share a story with friends or family. When you own this piece it then becomes a part of your story, the narrative of your own life.
