Description
Between the years 1988 and 1991, Japanese fashion imprint Comme des garçons produced a series of biannual magazines titled Six that explored the theme of the sixth sense. Rei Kawakubo enlisted graphic designer Tsuguya Inoue for art direction and Atsuko Kozasu for editorial, producing eight issues of unstapled and oversized A3 journals that were released in tandem with the launch of new CDG collections. The artistic publication was sparse in text and rich in photography. Kawakubo described the project as a “visual representation of the collection, purely for image.”
This issue is divided into three volumes, the first of which is Timothy Greenfield-Sanders, Brian Griffin, Peter Lindbergh, Tamio Tominaga, and Steven Meisel. Enzo Cucchi appeared in the second volume of the CdG show. The third volume consists of the works of jewelry designer Lene Vautrin, who was called a poet of metal. Art direction by Tsuguya Inoue. Edited by Atsuko Little Finger.
