Description
Hand dyed with natural materials, this lovely striped textile from West Africa was hand woven and traditionally used as a wrap. A great example of ancient techniques in textiles from Nigeria - the use of colour, proportion and design are beautifully contrasted between what is called strip cloth, which means the blanket is made up of several panels then sewn together. It’s not incredibly heavy but strong as this would have been hand loomed - traditionally by the men in the community. No stains, smells or holes - great condition!
