Giuliana Gramigna for Quattrifolio
Description
Pair of lacquered metal lamps, these pieces are composed by lacquered metal base and fabric shader. The shade is easily removed from the base due to the delicate incision through the white metal base. Beautiful, functional, and rewired for NA outlets. The lamp was also a selection for the Compass d'oro design prize in 1979.
Biography
Born in Milan, 1929, Giuliana has been working since 1961 with Sergio Mazza inside (but not limited within) the interior architecture and design industry. She is well known for her contributions to publishing “Repertory 1950-1980”, cataloging history of Italian furniture design. In 1966, Mazza and Gramigna found Ottagono, a 1979 Compasso d’Oro winning publication dedicated the architecture and design. Ottagono lasted until 1988 but is still regarded as an incredible source of information from design heavyweights of the era.
