Description
Between the years 1989 and 1991, Japanese fashion imprint Comme des garçons produced a series of biannual magazines titled Six that explored the theme of the sixth sense. Rei Kawakubo enlisted graphic designer Tsuguya Inoue for art direction and Atsuko Kozasu for editorial, producing eight issues of unstapled and oversized A3 journals that were released in tandem with the launch of new CDG collections. The artistic publication was sparse in text and rich in photography. Kawakubo described the project as a “visual representation of the collection, purely for image.” The sizeable pages feature contributions from the likes of Bruce Weber, artist duo Gilbert & George, fashion designer Azzedine Alaïa and noted photographer Peter Lindbergh
