Early Painting of Sade. Details on the back suggest this portrait was done in 1984, the year Sade released ‘Diamond Life’. This has a very two-dimensional and naive style that I find very endearing. There is a certain eeriness to this piece that is very attractive. I found this at a very small flea market outside Yokohama, Japan which is fascinating because in my experience you do not see Western/European cultural crafts and to see a Japanese hand creating this is really special and incredibly unique.
